"During my studies, I had access to libraries and I am aware of the importance of reading. Volunteering for this project is my way of helping other children to have access to a library in their school. I encourage everyone to do the same."

"I believe in the strength and potential of Africa. I also believe in the power of a well-oriented international development. Ma Première Bibliothèque is very innovative, commendable and apropos. It is the first of its kind in Montreal for a country in Central Africa with education as its mission. Join the team and help us make the children rediscover the importance of books in their education process!".

"I love travelling and always pay attention to my surroundings during my trips. I soon realized that the living conditions of some countries were very difficult and different compared to France. So, I want to help the children have more educational materials, more books, give them the opportunity to study in better conditions. Constructing this first library is the first step that will enable us to build the future."

"I am doing my bachelor’s in International Relations and International Law. In my childhood, I had the opportunity of travelling around Africa. Having only studied in French schools, I always had access to libraries. Knowing that other children will soon have the opportunity to enrich their personal culture through Ma Première Bibliothèque is an excellent source of motivation."

"I think that reading is the key to success. It deepens the teachings received in class but also increase one's capacity for critical thinking. I would like for every child to have the opportunity to read a book at least once a week because the future belongs to them."

"In my teenage years, I was dreaming of becoming rich to help other kids. But, I later understood that there was no need to put off what could be done today. I am realizing that by investing time and energy in this project, I can fulfill the dream I had as a teenager. Being wealthy does not change the world but rather our actions."

"Native of North Cameroon, I studied in difficult conditions. Several of my childhood friends could not continue their studies due to the lack of infrastructures and an appropriate education. This project is important to me because it is meant to improve the learning environment of less fortunate children."

"I encourage and support the project Ma Première Bibliothèque because children will get the chance to learn, to educate themselves through books. Born in Cameroon, I am aware of the learning difficulties due to the lack of school supplies in lots of schools. I also think it’s a great initiative."

"Born in Senegal, I consider myself a citizen of the world because I had the opportunity to travel around the 5 continents, hence my interest for the international. I discovered various cultures and, most importantly, I realized that some societies were poorer than others. I want to get involved to try to better the conditions of the less fortunate."

"I am Human Resources student at the University of Montreal. With the help of my brothers, I always had a good education. One of my goals in life is to help children get the best education possible. And I will spend the time needed to achieve it because a child’s education is what matters the most."

"Being an engineer in aeronautics, I've never expected to get involved in humanitarian projects. But deep down, I always wanted to make a difference in people’s life. As such, I am glad to have joined the project."

"I was privileged to have studied in excellent conditions. I was also able to visit different african countries where I saw the misery in which some children live. Education is a right for all and children will be more motivated if the learning conditions were propitious. If we get together and help one another, we can offer the less fortunate a better learning environment and build an Africa without misery."

"From Benin, I am doing a bachelor’s in International Studies at UQAM. I think that every school needs a library to complete what is taught in the classroom but also to broaden the general knowledge. I also think that building a library is a great idea becoming a reality with everyone’s involvement."
